Brief Description:
Local manufacturer is looking for a Shipper/Skid Builder-Maker to make skids from wood/pallets for assembly and shipping.
Applicants must have carpentry and circular saw experience.
Schedule is 5:00am - 2:00pm
Pay rate is $10.00 per hour
Function
- Startup and shutdown saw using hand/eye coordination
- Know location of materials and obtain necessary materials
- Use power saw to cut pieces to required lengths
- Properly use nail gun to assemble cut materials
- Complete fully, accurately, and submit on time required records and documents to supervision or QA.
- Reject any identified nonconforming product, and notify supervision and/or QA that product/material has been rejected.
- Attend all scheduled quality training sessions
- Comply with and enforce the appropriate environmental procedures and practices
- Responsible for reading and understanding appropriate MSDS documents for chemicals used or stored in their work area
- Attend all scheduled environmental training sessions
Requirement Note
- Must have carpentry and circular saw experience
- Must adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and Corporate/company policies and procedures
- Must obtain and properly use required safety and personal protective equipment
- Comply with and enforce approved safety rules and procedures, and report to supervisor defective safety equipment or unsafe conditions or practices
- Report all injuries occurring while employed. Attend all scheduled safety training sessions
- Comply with and enforce approved quality procedures, work instructions and other approved documentation such as drawings and quality records.
- Complete all required quality tests and inspections as assigned.
- Comply with and enforce the appropriate environmental procedures and practices
- Comply with pertinent environmental permit discharge limits including notifying QA supervision prior to draining any pit, tank, or container to the sewer or to the ground on the property, or releasing any chemical to the atmosphere
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
- Must be able to stand/sit/bend/reach/push/pull up to 25 pounds for duration of shift
- Must be able to work in an industrial environment where hearing protection is required
