Candidates must be able to operate large powered plate shear on diversified work. Must be able to work from prints, cutting list, verbal and/or written orders to set up stops, jigs, angle or miter cuts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate large powered plate shear on diversified work
Work from prints, cutting list, verbal and/or written orders to set up stops, jigs, angle or miter cuts
Use scale, square, protractor and tape
Request plate sizes and quantity to be delivered to work area by crane operator
Shear parts with minimum drop and advise supervisor of most efficient plate sizes to be inventoried
Shear small parts from drop
With assistance of operator, use jib crane and overhead crane to move plate into position and actuate shear.
Clear cut plate from rear of shear as necessary and stack. Check first piece cut for accuracy and conformance to print.
Maintain necessary records. Must detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials and unusual conditions to proper supervision.
Move material as necessary in the performance of duties or as directed.
Must maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition
Must follow prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain quality standards.
Perform other related duties as required.

- Must have good understanding of how to use tape measure
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent

At least 1 year prior experience in this type of position desirable
- $12 -$13 an hour based on experience
