Milliken - Weave Support Associate

Brief Description:

The Milliken Weave Support Associate supports the Weave Department by ensuring efficient material movement between filling yarn storage, weave machine and inspection. The support associate works closely with the team to ensure filling yarn inventory on loom is maintained at optimum levels and cloth rolls are doffed at the optimum length.  Performs housekeeping duties and relief weaving.  The Weave Team works on a rotating 8 hour shift.



  • Haul filling.   Properly identify and verify filling yarn.  Then allocate correct amount to loom per instructions.
  • Perform doffs.   Properly identify cloth rolls, doff from loom, and take to appropriate area in inspection.  Obtain correct ticket and match to roll
  • Clean machines
  • Perform pullovers and doffs
  • Doff Quality checks
  • Cut catchcord
  • Relief Weave
  • Maintain doff trucks
  • General housekeeping
  • Maintain equipment and anything else as instructed by management

Requirement Note


  • Ability to read and write and follow directions
  • Ability to comprehend written and verbal instructions
  • Basic Math (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
  • Attention to Detail-Thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task ensuring all aspects are reviewed
  • Adaptability-Adapts to changes in the work environment



  • Must be able to move around job for entire shift     
  • Good written and communication skills  
  • Must be able to accurately record and transfer information
  • Must be able to grasp numbers quickly and accurately  
  • Must have vision correctable to 20/20     
  • Must be able to safely operate Doff Trucks, Filling Carts and safely move materials manually as needed
  • Previous industrial experience is preferred



  • Must be able to wear a respirator and pass a respirator fit
  • Should be self-directed to the point of working with little to no supervision
  • Knowledge of weave room policies and procedures
  • Completing daily team maintenance (DTM) activities
  • Auditing safety items in department
