Mobile patrols are also used extensively in gated and residential communities where more than just gate access control is needed. These patrol officers observe for trespassers, respond to calls from residents, closely monitor construction projects, and, in some states, enforce traffic laws, operate traffic radar units and respond as medical first responders.
