Client Location: Thomson, GA  The operator is responsible for all setup, operations, and quality of product being produced. The operator must be attentive and self motivated. He/she must also be able to work as a team. The amount of equipment and processes used requires attention to detail and ability to keep pace with the process in order to minimize setup time and scrap.

Function

The operator is responsible for all setup, operations, and quality of product being produced. The operator must be attentive and self motivated. He/she must also be able to work as a team. The amount of equipment and processes used requires attention to detail and ability to keep pace with the process in order to minimize setup time and scrap.
DUTIES:

  • Make complete line setups on jobs from specifications sheets.
  • Operate lines, maintaining proper speeds, adjustments, etc., to insure a quality product and production rates.
  • Perform continuous inspections of product both visual as well as through the use of micrometers and record product and process parameters.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork as required, giving particular attention to product weights and scrap.
  • Package product according to instructions to include the making of boxes as required by Job Sheet.
  • Keep extrusion line and surrounding area clean and orderly.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Operation of blenders
  • Boxing material from silo, railcar, bulk trailer, etc.
  • Operating forklift for material handling

Requirement Note

This employer requires that applicants be at least 18 years old, and prefers at least 12 months experience in a production facility, have a high school diploma/GED from a state accredited institution.   Forklift experience necessary.

 

Required Skills for position:  

  • DEXTERITY (good physical movement especially in using hands and working with objects)
  • BASIC READING, WRITING, ARITHEMETIC SKILLS REQUIRED
  • MUST BE ABLE TO STAND FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME
  • MUST BE ABLE TO WORK OVERTIME IF REQUIRED (20-25 hours per week)
  • NO HISTORY OF ALLERGIES OR ASTHMA
  • POSITIVE ATTITUDE AND GOOD WORK ETHIC
  • NEGATIVE DRUG TEST
  • ACCEPTABLE BACKGROUND
  • DEPENDABLE TRANSPORTATION
  • MUST WEAR STEEL TOED BOOTS; LONG SLEEVE SHIRTS; FITTING ATTIRE; NO JEWELRY
