History of Sizemore, Inc.
Sizemore, Inc. was founded in Augusta, Georgia in 1955 by retired police officer, Lieutenant Eddie Sizemore under the name Georgia Merchant Police Association. After his unexpected death in 1957, his wife, Mrs. Thelma Sizemore, overcame much adversity in her efforts to manage and grow the small company that would become the largest security corporation in Augusta by 1972.
In that year, C. Preston Sizemore, son of Eddie and Thelma, became President and CEO of the Company, operated at that time under the name Sizemore Security International.
In 1982, the Company founded Sizemore Personnel Services to meet the growing demand for a qualified, dependable workforce. After changing the staffing division name to Sizemore Staffing Services in 2000, the company continued to realize success. By its leadership in providing qualified employees for its customers, Sizemore Staffing Services continues to be a key part of that success.
Sizemore Janitorial Services started in 1991. With the addition of its Green Solutions Program, launched in 2004, Sizemore customers have the capability to maximize facility operations while reducing their impact on the environment.
With vision and insight, Preston assembled a professional team, developed a strategic diversification of services and implemented the Total Contract Services concept. Today, Sizemore Inc. has become a multi-million dollar company with locations throughout the Southeastern United States.
In 2011, the shareholders of Sizemore, Inc. elected Preston E. (“Size”) Sizemore, the grandson of Thelma and Eddie Sizemore, as Sizemore’s newest President and Chief Executive Officer. Prior to assuming his role as President and CEO, Size served the company for more than 20 years, most recently as its Chief Operating Officer. As COO, Size helped lead the Company’s efforts to expand its services into new markets while enhancing its reputation as a national leader in the service industry.
Sizemore’s growth continues today in all three of its business units. The balance between its Security, Staffing and Janitorial operations, as well as the continued management of the Sizemore family, insures a bright outlook for this family-owned business as its leadership continues to the next generation.
